Besides viewing lovely home gardens in Lexington in early summer, maybe you are wondering if you really have the time to attend our Open Gates Garden Tour June 26-27.
BUT HAVE YOU…
Enjoyed the new landscape enhancements along our Richmond, Versailles, and Clay’s Mill Roads during your drives around Lexington?
Appreciated the renewal of Lexington’s tree canopy?
Supported Community Gardens?
Wandered, walked, or run through the Arboretum?
Lived in neighborhoods with entrance gardens?
Visited the Lexington Women’s Garden or the Monarch Waystation at Wellington Park?
Taken photos, been to a wedding, or shopped at the Craft Show at Waveland State Historic site?
Heard your children enthuse about the hands-on participation in their school gardens?

If you have, or been to other public gardens around Lexington, then you have seen the civic contributions of the Lexington Council Garden Clubs. From being the impetus for the establishment of LFUCG’s Tree Board and Corridors Commission, being founding members of the UK-Lexington Fayette County Arboretum, establishing, maintaining and contributing funds and sweat equity to floral gardens throughout the city, supporting community and school garden projects. and helping to create and upkeep pollinator ecosystems, you have seen the Council’s touch..
LCGC has been an important player in the often overlooked greening of Lexington. When you purchase tickets to our June Garden Tour, you become our partners, as tour proceeds provide much of the funding for our efforts. This is a winning situation for you (garden tour!), LCGC (funding), and for the city of Lexington.
We look forward to seeing you at the Tour!
