Each member club of the Lexington Council Garden Clubs takes responsibility for maintaining a local public garden in Lexington.
The Down to Earth Garden Club, established in 1994, has developed and tended the perennial garden at the Waveland Historic Site in south Lexington. The garden has been planted largely with native plants, shrubs, and trees. It has become a popular spot to visit on the Waveland grounds for people and wildlife alike.
